When you go to your old country house without any electricity and without a bathroom, you can handle living without lights, because that is part of the adventure, but having no toilet can certainly be quite frustrating. It is essential to keep our cities clean and our homes sanitary and for people to have some “alone time” in the restroom. So, instead of going out to your toilet, you should definitely have it inside your home.
However, a lot of time has passed since you have bought one and you might be wondering whether some things have changed or not. Has the technology related to this subject progressed at all? Has smart technology been implemented? Should you spend on an expensive one instead of getting a cheap one? These are probably the questions that are going through your mind and we are here to answer them for you. We have made extensive research about the different types of toilets and which are the best ones for your bathroom.

Types of toilet
Before we get into our list of the best toilets we found online, we will first need to help you understand the different types that are available. One might suit your bathroom more than another, so there is no reason why you should not spend a few extra minutes to learn about them.
Two-piece
This is the most common type that you have probably already seen it more than a hundred times in your life. The tank here is pretty large which means it will handle at least two or three large flushes before it is depleted. However, because the tank is so big it has to be separated from the bowl.
If you are looking to save on space then a two-piece should not be your choice, although if you are looking for a larger tank, then go for it.
One-piece
This one is quite similar to the two-piece style but the difference is that the tank is connected to the bowl. Because the tank is connected to the bowl, it is usually much smaller than other types of toilets, but it also takes up a lot less space. So, if you do not want your bathroom to feel small, go for this style.
Keep in mind, these can be quite expensive and if you break a piece of it, you will have to completely replace it as it is just one whole ceramic piece. There are no replaceable parts.
Wall-mounted
The wall-mounted style does not have any clear benefits or cons, it is most wanted for its aesthetics. It seems likes it is floating in the air because it is mounted on the wall and it also saves a bit of space because the tank is completely hidden inside of the wall.
Compact
These are the best option if you have a small WC in your home and you do not have enough room to place a regular toilet. The tank is positioned right behind the bowl which makes it unnoticeable and no extra space is taken up.

1. Saniflo Sanicompact 48
If you are looking for a type of toilet to use as less space as possible in your restroom, your smartest move would be to use a compact one, but you do not want to compromise any of the features that a regular one would give. This is why we chose the Sanicompact 48 as our number one choice. It uses somewhere around a gallon of water for every flush you make, but it is more than enough to ensure that all of the water gets replaced and that there will not be any clogs.
Since there is no tank at all, it will be much quieter compared to regular ones who are very loud while replenishing the water. With just the press of a button, you activate the powerful water pump that will be able to deal with any kind of waste.
2. Kohler K-3998-0 Wellworth
The K-3998-0 Wellworth comes as a two-piece with an elongated bowl. Kohler is usually famous for offering expensive products, but this time around this is a great budget option and we would recommend this for everyone who looks for multiple flashing capabilities. It is quite simple in its looks, it works efficiently and it is quite durable.
You could get this one somewhere around $250. Yeah, it might not seem that cheap, but considering the quality of materials used and the flushing mechanism, it really is a great bargain.
It has a dual flushing mechanism, which means that you can alternate between two different options to flush. One option will use 1.1 gallons per flush while the other is the complete tank of 1.6 gallons.
3. Kohler Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa from Kohler is simply a piece of art. Not only is it a single piece toilet which already makes it easier to clean, but it does not have any narrow corners. Every single side of the ceramic is smoothed out, so you will not have any trouble cleaning it.
Even though it is one-piece, it still has a big enough tank that can hold almost 1.3 gallons of water which is more than enough to flush anything when combined with its AquaPiston system. It is Kohler’s patented system that improves the effectiveness and power of the flush.
4. Toto UltraMax II
This one is for those who are willing to spend a bit of extra cash for their toilet system at home. It is very stylish, so it will probably go along with the design of your bathroom, it is quite tall and it is very efficient with its flush mechanism.
Toto’s Tornado Flush system saves on the water while giving a very effective flush, so you won’t have to worry about it increasing your water bills.
