What Should I bring on a Trip to Canada

Being the second largest country in the world, Canada offers a lot of diversities including landscapes, culture slicked cities and a lot of wildlife and adventure sports. There’s a thing for everyone in this beautifully diverse country.

So if you have planned a trip to Canada, then you are in for a treat of glacier topped mountains, rugged coastline and impressive forests. Before, you fly away to this beautiful destination, you should also make sure that you have packed all the necessary items.

Passport

Passport is required to visit the country of Canada if you are visiting from U.S or any other foreign country. So carry your passport along with yourself and make sure that its valid at the time of your entry to the country. your passport should be valid for at least three months from your departure date and if you plan to stay in Canada for more than 180 days, you will require a visa as well.

Electronic travel authorization

Eta Canada is compulsory for the all non visa countries visiting to Canada like France, Switzerland and Belgium etc. This electronic travel authorization is required for tourism and travel as well as business purposes and also for entering the Canadian border by air. You can make the application for eta online and though you get it fairly quick, but it is advised that you apply for an eta several weeks prior to your travel.

Travel insurance

No matter which country you are visiting Canada from, you should have your travel insurance with you. Especially, if you are going to indulge in adventure sports like skiing and snowboarding. Though these are fun, but they can also be quite risky. Many travel insurance agencies offer extra policies for sports like these and it is all the more reason why you should purchase a travel insurance before travelling to Canada.

Clothing

You need to check what you pack for your Canada visit based on the weather. The Canadian climate is usually quite cold and snowy. The summer temperatures are a few degrees warmers so you can pack summer clothings but also pack some warm items like packed shoes, long sleeved shirts, pants and jackets as they evenings may be cooler. If you happen to visit during the winters, then you should pack warmer clothes like jackets, gloves and hats and the like. You might also need to carry an umbrella as the weather in Canada is quite unpredictable and it also rains occasionally in the winter season.
