An upcoming artist from Swainsboro had his music video premiered on MTV recently and set the way for his new album, The Reject
Tony Brown is an upcoming musician that had his dream come true by having his song aired on MTV on October 19th.
The Swainsboro native, who goes by the name Proper Einstein, says he loved music ever since he was a kid. Taking inspiration by industry legends such as Kanye West, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, and Prince, Brown aims to study such greats and emulate them one day.
His newest lead single “Light Bulbs” aired on MTV and received positive feedback from fans. Brown feels that “Light Bulbs” got the much-needed traction on both MTV and social media that he believes will be the pillar for a new 5 track album, which he later reveals to be called “The Reject”.

How would you describe yourself?
“I guess I would describe myself as a hard working, open minded, and welcoming person that likes to look at things the optimistic way. I guess you can say that I’ve always liked that weird and unusual approach to music, and I don’t like to be silly around people who I don’t know them.”
What’s your favorite song you like to sing while in the shower?
“Apart from most of Kanye’s songs, the most that uplift me while taking a shower would be some of The Weekend’s songs like “Coming Down”, “The Party/The After Party”, and I guess I would say “Professional”. I liked his music better when he was his own artist, not that his music now is bad, I just liked him better before he went mainstream.”
What’s your story? How did you first started with music?
“While in middle school, I liked playing the trombone. So you can say that was the first time I started doing anything related to music. But the first time I fell in love with it was through a friend of mine who had a Playstation 1 that had a beat maker on it. I tried it once and I was instantly hooked to it. I remember every time I had to leave, I would just stare at the TV screen. Later on, I discovered this software called Fruity Loops. It was an advanced version than the Playstastion one, I downloaded it and the rest is pretty much history.”
What musicians mostly influenced you, and what impact they had on your musical approach?
“First of all, I love samples and Kanye is the reason for that. The first time I heard his sample for “We Are The Champions” with the ROC, I fell in love with samples. The Weekend is also my guy and I guess I would describe him as Michael Jackson gone hipster. I love all genres of music and I love Deadmau5, 2 Pac, Biggie, Zaytoven, Chris Cornell, Prince, Nirvana, I love all of them and all their music. I wouldn’t say that there is a definitive artist that I look up to, however, I have done some music inspired by some of them. I like to be different and by appreciating such a diverse group of artist, I can say that I am achieving that.”
Your new EP, “The Reject”, can you tell us anything about that?
“It’s called “The Reject” because it revolves around reinvention and rejection. It will be a 5 track album that will feature “Light Bulbs” as its lead single and it will be out in the first quarter of 2019”.
