Ever since the news about Prince Harry dating American actress Meghan Markle has hit the world, Meghan got a lot of support from the public. But, she also received a lot of hatred too.
When the couple got engaged in November 2017, Meghan got a lot more of the negative comments, even from her own family and her fellow celebrities.
Even though their royal wedding went by without any big drama, and even though they are now officially Duke and Duchess of Sussex, there are still some celebrities who still hate the fact that Meghan is part of the royal family now.

Wendy Williams called her a ‘random princess’
In December 2017, Wendy told her audience that she thinks Markle is “a bit of a wild card, you know because she goes from being the Deal or No Deal girl. So this is a girl looking for game.’’
Two months later, during an interview with 90210 actress AnnaLynne McCord, Wendy asked the actress about Meghan’s cameo on 90201 reboot, referring to Meghan as a “random princess.”
But that is not all. In November 2016, when the news of the royal couple dating was fresh, Wendy shared her thoughts on the couple’s relationship, stating it wouldn’t last long.
“There’s way too much drama with her and this will not work out,” Williams stated. “It’s not her. It’s gonna be the family. The family is gonna mess it up.”
Piers Morgan says he was ghosted by her
British journalist Piers Morgan said on a February 2018 episode of ITV’s Loose Women, that the two were friends before she became part of the royal family.
“I was on Twitter one day, and I love Suits, the show she was [on] in America,” he shared. “So I follow four of the stars of Suits, including Meghan Markle, and within ten seconds, she immediately direct messaged me, saying, ‘I’m a massive fan of yours, this is great.'”
The two continued their messaging, and they even met at Wimbledon, where Piers said that Meghan and he acted like they were best buddies, but after that, h Piers claims she decided to remove him from her life, which hurt Piers.
In March 2018, on Good Morning Britain, he had a couple of comments about Meghan and Prince Harry’s decision to have an organic lemon and elderflower cake on their wedding, instead of traditional fruit cake.
“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are creating scandal and sensation by going their own way,” he proclaimed. “To me, when you get married, you don’t muck around. You stick to tradition and have a fruit cake.”
Katie Hopkins ripped her to shreds
Katie Hopkins is a British media personality, and in November 2016 she made an entire article criticizing the “shy-and-retiring, Instagram-addicted Meghan.”
“Given she used to work as a ‘freelance calligrapher’ (which basically means she can write with a pen) her fortunes have taken off faster than Tim Peake on his way to the International Space Station.”
She also had a couple of things to say regarding Prince Harry’s request for media to respect Meghan’s privacy.
“If you don’t want Miss Sparkle trolled on social media, advise her to stay away from posting pictures of bananas spooning on her Instagram account.” She added, “If Meghan — a woman who acts, and does PR for a living — doesn’t understand that then, dare I suggest, maybe she isn’t suitable girlfriend material, let alone a potential bride?”
Chrissie Swan thinks she’s faking it
Australian TV personality and author took to Facebook some of her thoughts:
“For some reason, I still haven’t warmed to her. It’s her manner. She looks like she’s performing. To me, she looks like she’s portraying a concocted humility. Acting.”
As stated by New Idea, Chrissie got a lot of support from her fans, who shared similar views on the American actress, but on the other hand, Chrissie received a lot of criticism, and she was even called a ‘’bully.’’
Kate and Pippa Middleton jealous?
When Meghan and Prince Harry got engaged, the rumors started how Kate and Meghan are not getting along. The rumor was that they are constantly competing over who gets to be the ‘’People Princess’’, like the late Princess Diana.
But, as stated by Life & Style, Pippa is the one who is jealous of the newest member of the royal family. “[Kate and Pippa] used to do everything together and speak daily,” an insider pointed out. “But now that Meghan lives practically under the same roof as Kate at Kensington Palace, the dynamics have changed and Pippa feels shoved out.”
Princess Eugenie had to reschedule her wedding
Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank wanted to get married in September 2018, after 7 years of dating, but they had to postpone it to October 2018, because of Markle and Prince Harry’s foreign press tour in September. Brooksbank’s grandmother, Joanna Newton shared with the Daily Mail, “I do know that they’re now not going to get married in September… [The Royal family] have got something else going on then I think so they couldn’t. So [Jack] just said that if they can’t get married in September they will have to get married in October.'”
Meghan has two older siblings from her father’s side – Thomas Markle Jr. and Samantha Grant, who became famous when the news about Prince Harry dating Meghan appeared.
Grant shared with The Sun that Markle’s “behavior is certainly not befitting of a Royal Family member.
” She claims that Meghan is “social climbing,” declaring, “Hollywood has changed her. I think her ambition is to become a princess.’’
Tomas Jr shared with the In Touch what allegedly happened when he asked Meghan for help.
“My lawyer had a phone meeting with her lawyer, and he emailed me some of [Meghan’s] direct words., ‘That’s distant family and I don’t know those people.’ That’s pretty harsh. I spent a lot of time with her growing up.”
Her ex-husband can ‘barely contain his anger’
Andrew Morton’s most popular book was Princess Diana’s autobiography in 1992.
In Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, Morton shared that
“Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘feeling like he was a piece of something stuck to the bottom of her shoe.'” They married in 2011, and in 2013 Meghan suddenly “sent her wedding and engagement rings back to Trevor by registered post,” supposedly “out of the blue.”
As stated by the author, Engelson can “barely contain his anger,” after all this time, and even though he hasn’t publicly said anything about the divorce, he is allegedly producing a comedy show for Fox that is apparently his way of dealing with this whole situation.
Prince Andrew allegedly gave her a ‘cold reception’
The Express stated that the Duke of York, Prince Andrew, Queen Elizabeth II, and Prince Philip’s second oldest son, “displayed a noticeable dislike of Meghan compared to the rest of the royals” while attending a Christmas shindig at Sandringham House.
“Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice got on fantastically well with Meghan,” a source said. “It was all fine with Prince Edward, Duke of Wessex and his family, [but] she had a cold reception from the Duke of York.”
Kate Hawkesby thinks ‘she feels fake’
New Zealand-based radio personality Kate Hawkesby shared in a January 2018 column for New Zealand Herald:
“I have a thing about Meghan Markle. I don’t trust her. It’s a theory based on nothing more than gut instinct. Here’s the thing — she feels fake. Opportunistic. Like she’s there for the wrong reasons.”
Jan Moir says she’s too ‘huggy wuggy’
British columnist Jan Moir wrote in a February 2018 Daily Mail column ‘Why does Meghan Markle need to be so huggy wuggy?’ Moir said,
“I have begun to ask myself, who the heck does Meghan Markle think she is?”
“It seems far, far too early for Meghan to go into full Diana mode and unfurl any fondly imagined royal superpowers,” Moir wrote. “Or to start believing that she can change the lives of troubled citizens merely by bequeathing a megawatt smile and a consolation hug around their luckless shoulders.”
