In her recent interview with Australia’s WHO magazine, Nicole Kidman opened about her children practising Scientology. She is quite private about her life and children but she finally shared her thoughts and feelings.
Conor and Isabella are the two oldest children Nicole had adopted her ex-husband Tom Cruise. The actor is one of the most established members of Church of Scientology and the children followed his footsteps.
Nicole and Tom were married in 1990, had a happy marriage, adopted children and when it looked nothing can separate them, they announced their divorce in 2001. It was later speculated that the Church of Scientology was between the couple because Nicole didn’t want to practice Scientology. It is also thought that they tried to separate her from the children, saying she is “suppressive person.”
In the interview, Kidman said: “I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships, but I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is.”
When asked about her thoughts of Conor and Isabella’s Scientology practice she said:
“They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”
In her last film, she is playing a mother whose son is sent to religious-based gay conversion therapy. Talking about the film, from the perspective of a parent, Nicole said:
“I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family — I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love.”
