We as human beings have a lot of responsibility towards other human beings and this planet. And the best way to address different concerns is through art. Art has the power to speak a thousand words that we wish to convey to the rest of the world, and this is what Art for Good Cause is all about. The idea behind this is simple, and that is to offer a platform where artists can display their creativity and talk about various issues, for example, Global Warming, Youth and Tobacco, Kids and Social Media, and many other profound causes.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”― Margaret Mead
Art for Good Cause organized a competition in the year 2019 with the support of Art Impact International Organization on the subject Protect Kids from Tobacco. The event was inspired by WHO Initiatives on anti-tobacco. There were 55 artworks from 9 countries, and it was an amazing and inspiring event. There were artists from all age groups starting from age 8. You can see some of the artworks displayed on the artforgoodcause.com website.
This year, ArtForGoodCause.com is building up some exciting new plans to work with new artists to expand the idea of creating a social impact around the world through art. An international Art competition based on the subject “Global Warming.”
Who is behind Art for Good Cause?
The brainchild behind Art of Good Cause is Jibin George, a self-taught artist from Kerala, India, who now lives in Texas, USA. He started creating beautiful art pieces since 2012. The single agenda behind this cause is to provide a platform to all the artists from all across the globe and use this platform to make people aware about various social issues.
His passion for art has enabled him to travel to different parts of the USA and Asia. He believes that art is his window to learn more about vivid cultures and lifestyles. Jibin has created more than 100 realistic portraits, and his work has been a part of various exhibitions in the United States, as well as India.
It was in the year 2019 when he introduced Art for Good Cause with a core vision to make people aware of different issues through the medium of art. The sole reason for creating this platform is to allow artists to find the right platform to showcase their talent. He wants to help fellow artist and emerging talent find global recognition.
Jibin firmly believes that art can communicate, and serious issues like global warming, tobacco use and other social problems can be addressed to other people through this medium adequately.
The urgent need for understanding global warming issues
In 2024, Art for Good Cause is all set to conduct an International Art competition based on the subject “Global Warming.” Global warming is causing dire consequences to our earth. The most immediate effect that we can see is the increase in temperature. Other than that, oceans are starting to tear and causing a tsunami. Hundreds and hundreds of people and animals are being washed away each year.
While some part of the world is receiving the hottest summers, other parts of the world are experiencing unbearable cold. Climate change doesn’t only mean change in hot and cold weather, but the frequent occurrence of hurricanes and floods. Take recent Australia’s bushfire event. Something needs to be done right away. And a severe action has to be taken. Otherwise, we are not far away from mass destruction.
One of the main manifestations of global warming is unending ice melting. North America, Asia, and Europe, all of these countries have seen a lesser snow cover between 1960 and 2015. In Montana’s Glacier National Park, only 25 glaciers are left, and that is an apparent effect of global warming.
Now, because ice is melting rapidly, it is increasing the sea level of the oceans. As per the World Meteorological Organization, there is a rise of 0.12 inches of the sea level every year, and that is a serious concern. Melting glaciers all around South and North America, Europe, Greenland, and Asia, along with melting polar ice in the Antarctic and Arctic region, are also expected to rise significantly.
With the increase in water levels all over the world, there is more risk of frequent rainfall, flood, and even unexpected snowfall. Apart from these devastating effects, we are at risk of losing many plants and animals kingdom. Some are already on the verge of extinction; with these consequences, we are putting plants and animals at risk.
It is high time that we unite together and fight for something that is ours. Mother earth is ours, and it is our responsibility to take care of it. Join hands with Art for Good Cause and take part in the initiative to let the rest of the world know about the consequences if we don’t act now. Let your work of art create awareness. Let us stand together and find against global warming.
Don’t let the oceans tear because once they do, it will be too late!
