It’s seemingly easy to do it, but very hard if you have no idea what needs doing. SO, because of that, we’re here to give you a few tips on a couple of DIY painting ideas. These will feature ways you can decorate your falls though a fresh coat of paint. The list will mostly include designs that are playful, modern, and by no means a single color.

So, without further ado, let’s start.

If you happen to love DIY and is a DIY enthusiast, then look no further for a home decoration than the art of the stencil.

Stencil is a type of art that involves cutting designs such as shapes, letters, etc, and applying them with ink.

All you need for this to work is a day off and to put your mind to work. This is by no means an easy DIY job as you’ll need to brainstorm shapes or whatever else you wish to apply to your walls as decoration.

However, if you ever hit a dead end, the internet is always here to give you a push and browse new things.

2. Harlequin

The harlequin is a wall pattern design that is gaining a lot of popularity recently. Partly for that is Margot Robbie and her stunning acting in Suicide Squad.

However, this pattern can be DIY-ed and used to give your sterile walls some much-needed life and movement. This pattern works best for the kitchen, but can also work in your nursery or master bedroom.

The pattern, however, involves diamond shapes and two colors. You paint one set of the diamonds with one and the rest with the other color. As a general rule, the colors picked need to work with each other and not be randomly picked. As an example, two contrasting colors such as white and light blue work brilliantly.

3. Metallics

Everyone recognizes this paint as it is like no other out there. According to behangservicenederland.com, Metallic paint is perfect if you want some show-stopping update to your walls.

The best thing about this one is that you can apply it in hundreds of ways. Literary any wall in your home can have a decorated section with it, or even have the full wall painted. The color comes in many hues, each one stylish in its own way.

4. Stripes

There is no better way to decorate your walls than with stripes. Stripes are an excellent way to turn your boring walls into something fun and playful. Not only that, but it can also be made in a DIY style.

This design idea works best for the office room. It will go an excellent job in turning your office from a boring one, to one where you will actually want to go and do some work during the weekends.

For a fresh and quite a modernistic style, look no further than stripes.

5. Polka Dots

Ah yes, quite possibly one of the easiest DIY home decorations you can do are polka dots.

Much like the previously mentioned, polka dots are a fun and playful home DIY decoration that involves little to no effort made. It’s a great way to transform your stale room into something different; to add a bit of pizzazz and wow.

Polka dots, as you all know, are nothing but little circle shapes that go nicely in any environment. All you have to do is simply cut them off and plaster them all over your walls. As a general rule, this decoration is quite playful, but also quite childish, so it will go best if applied to your children’s room.

6. Streaking

Streaking has a unique word in the design industry, which is Strie. Strie isn’t actually a word you’ll find in the English dictionary, but one that you’ll find in the French.

Strie is a technique, developed by the French, of painting either horizontal or vertical lines on any texture. The end-results closely resemble linen, and it looks stunning, modernistic, and very playful.

Streaking is also very DIY-friendly, but we do recommend you watch a video or two before your first try. There is no better way to add a bit of space into an empty room than with this technique.

7. Bag Rolling

A very fun technique for the entire family, bad rolling involves painting your walls, getting a plastic bag and rolling it all over your walls while the paint is still fresh.

You might think this is quite foolish, but the end result will surprise you all. Some of the best textures have been created using this technique, and it’s completely DIY-friendly. It’s also fun for the whole family, and it could be great for some family bonding. Just make sure to involve the kids as they will love it.

8. Sponging

Sponging is yet another technique that involves doing nothing but fooling around. And, as the name suggests, all you have to do is grab a sponge and run it down while the pain is still fresh.

And, again, like the previous one, it’s a very fun technique that everyone can get behind. It’s a great way to decorate your walls, and it’s amazing fun for the entire family.
