It has happened to every celebrity to pick a fight or have some kind of disagreement with another celebrity, and Julia Roberts is no exception. However, even though some such stories are true, there are also several that are completely made up. Here are five feuds that you should not believe ever happened between this famous actress and her co-workers.
First, there was this rumor that Julia Roberts warned Reese Witherspoon to stay away from her niece, Emma Roberts, after Emma had said that she admired Witherspoon. According to Woman’s Day Australia, such a comment made Roberts “livid,” and this, in turn, prompted her to say Witherspoon to stay away from her family. Well, the story doesn’t make much sense, does it?
Not long ago, another tabloid broke the news about Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock finally ending their longtime feud after they had been casted to star in the same movie. However, not only is there no such movie, but these two never really confronted each other, so there was no feud to settle.
The next rumor had to do about Roberts not being on good terms with Jennifer Aniston. Namely, some sources suggested that the two actresses were battling over whose upcoming series would be a bigger hit. Another story that doesn’t make much sense to begin with, given that Julia Roberts’ series already premiered, while Aniston has only began to shoot hers, plus, both will be available on streaming services, so you can watch either at any time. Roberts and Aniston posed together at a charity benefit afterwards to show that they have nothing against each other.
Anne Hathaway is another actress Julia Roberts was allegedly in feud with. Of course, these were all lies, which was even confirmed by Hathaway’s representative who said that “There was never ever a feud. In fact, Annie is a super fan of Julia Roberts, so this makes no sense whatsoever.”
Lastly, tabloids didn’t need much to turn Julia Roberts’ friendly joke against Jennifer Lawrence and make up a whole story about the two fighting. Namely, when asked about Lawrence joining her as one of America’s Sweethearts, the actress said jokingly “My card is expired and I didn’t get a new one. I think she’s fabulous, but she seems cooler than me.” Of course, there was no bad intention, just a joke, so when the tabloids twisted the comment, Josh Horowitz shortly explained what was that all about saying: “Nothing so dispiriting as seeing some people turning a fun and complimentary chat into one actress going after another.” He’s right, don’t you think?
