Queen Elisabeth II will become a great-grandmother again, as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that Meghan is pregnant. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex got married in May and their first-born is expected in spring of 2019.
The title their child will bear depends on its sex. Since only boys can inherit the title of duke, if it is a girl, she will be called simply a Lady. In order to become a duchess, she would have to marry a duke.
Both Meghan and Harry are on the record stating that they want kids as soon as possible. Meghan remarked: “I am sure at one point we will need the whole thing. It’s very sweet.” Harry was also quite certain of the issue: “My mother took a huge part in showing me an ordinary life,” he said. “Thank goodness I’m not completely cut off from reality… I am determined to have a relatively normal life, and if I am lucky enough to have children, they can have one, too.”
The Royal couple is due to start their first official overseas trip. They are due to open Invictus Games in Sydney, Australia this week and are visiting New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga.
