I know, that headline sounds like a “which one of these things doesn’t belong” logic puzzle. But stay with me, because I’m going to explain how they are all related after the jump.
Last week, Redditor CappnPoopdeck (totally obsessed with the name, BTW) posted a comic strip about a dude who takes an ex-girlfriend’s unused pregnancy test as a joke only to have it come up positive.
The post got more that 1500 comments, many of them informing CappnPoopdeck that a positive pregnancy test for a man may indicate certain types of testicular cancer, because, similar to pregnancy, testicular cancer can cause elevated levels of hCG in the urine.
This week, CappnPoopdeck posted an update in the form of a new comic. Apparently, the pregnancy test taker was an unidentified friend of his. The friend visited a doctor and found a tumor in the man’s testicle, who is now receiving treatment. The end.
But seriously, guys, if you don’t want to take a pregnancy test, you can conduct monthly testicle examinations the way we do for on our breasts. The more you know. Also, who says the internet doesn’t save lives? [Huffington Post]
