Sarah Palin has moved on from being simply a climate-change denier to an apparent expert on all matters scientific.
At a recent press event for her new film Climate Hustle, she reportedly trashed beloved children’s television host Bill Nye the Science Guy (why??). “Bill Nye is as much as scientist as I am,” she said. “He’s a kids’ show actor; he’s not a scientist.”
As Gawker points out, Nye is a mechanical engineer who calls himself the “Science Guy.” He also hasn’t been at the forefront of any climate change policy, but still, better him than Sarah Palin.
In addition to raking the man who taught me to rub a balloon on my hair when I want it to stick up over the coals, Palin had this to say about climate change: “We need to keep in mind how important it is for parents to understand this issue and to understand the political agenda behind global warming. It is being used as a fundraiser, it is being used as a partisan issue unfortunately so that parents can be first and foremost in their child’s life and influence them to trust science and believe in science and not leave it to the teachers.”
