With the new year just around the corner, it’s time to reflect on 2019 and see if there are any skincare resolutions you can adopt for better skin in 2024. Going into 2024, it is important to avoid previous mistakes in order to have the best skin, and we are going to give you the tools necessary to achieve that.
Here are our best skin care tips for the upcoming year.

Contents

  • 1. Your Skin Shouldn’t Hurt
  • 2. Warm is The Best Way to go
  • 3. CBD Oil
  • 4. Avoid Long Baths
  • 5. Avoid Scrubbing
  • 6. Dump the Soap
  • 7. Perfume Has Nothing to do With Skin Care

1. Your Skin Shouldn’t Hurt

This one should be very clear, but beauty magazines and professionals in the industry often say that your skin will get worse before better. Usually, if your skin gets red, it means it’s in distress, and you should change your skin care product if this happens. If your skin reacts to the product you’re using, then we suggest you ditch that product and go for another one.
If your skin experiences mild flaking, then you got nothing to worry about because that’s your skins way of getting used to the product.

2. Warm is The Best Way to go

When cleansing your skin, avoid using hot or very cold water. Hot and cold water can have a damaging effect on your skin. While we all like to wash our face in the morning with cold water just as much as our morning coffee, professionals suggest to use warm water.

4. Avoid Long Baths

Who doesn’t like a long bath to relax after a hard day’s work? While long baths are good for relaxing your muscles, they can have a negative effect on your skin. Namely, long soaks stress your skin and this is categorized with pruning, which is a sign of a mild skin disorder. Staying too long in water damages your skin, and strips it of vital substances like cholesterol and ceramides.

5. Avoid Scrubbing

Well, not necessarily, but scrubbing your skin is the most common way we hurt our skin. It exposes it to exfoliation, and while most AHA or BHA exfoliants are the best way to exfoliate your skin, some of them can damage your skin rather than help you. The best way you can help your skin without quitting the scrubbing is to avoid those that overly harsh, abrasive, and poorly formulated.

6. Dump the Soap

Soap is made out of ingredients that are chemically formulated to keep the soap together in solid form. Soap is bad for your skin because of those ingredients that leave residue behind. While using a bar soap every now and then won’t hurt your skin, the constant use can make your skin dry and sensitive.

7. Perfume Has Nothing to do With Skin Care

We all love the smell of our skin products, but some of them have a negative effect on our skin. Skin care products with high fragrance smell brilliant. Whether that’s because of the essential oils, or other sources, products with high fragrance are terrible for our skin, so make sure to avoid them at all costs.
