What are the best exercises to treat back pain

Back pain is one of the most common problems in today’s modern world, and there’s a really good reason for that. Since almost all of our jobs today are sedentary, they require us to be in front of our computers for hours before heading home, and we then most likely continue doing the same thing and being sedentary until we go to bed.

This is really unhealthy for our body, and it might not seem as bad at first, but after a few months and years start adding up, you’ll definitely start feeling the negatives.

Back Pain is truly a common problem amongst people who don’t exercise, and even if you don’t have a sedentary job, if your lower back muscles are not strengthened, you’ll be experiencing back pain. Today we’re taking a look at some of the best exercises that can be practiced if you want to treat back pain, or completely eliminate it, so without further ado let’s take a look.

Why does back pain occur in the first place?

Back Pain happens because of the unhealthy combination of weak lower back muscles, and un-stretched tendons and muscles. The constant pressure that we’re putting on our lower back by sitting, especially in unhealthy positions, will sooner or later result in pain that never goes away. Back Pain makes it extremely uncomfortable for you to sit, do daily activities and even go to sleep.

How to treat back pain?

In order to completely eliminate back pain, we need to start stretching our lower back and strengthening the muscles in that particular area. If you are a person who can afford to go to the gym, both economically and time-wise, there are many free-weight exercises such as Deadlifts with lighter weights that can help you improve the strength and endurance of your lower back, and eliminate all pain.

According to rodd1fitness.com however, if you can’t go to the gym, there are other bodyweight exercises that you can do in your own home or at your workplace, that are just as efficient as the ones you can do in the gym. Some of those examples are planks and sit-ups, which are both good for strengthening the core.

As for stretching, most of the yoga and Pilates stretches that are meant for the lower back area will work just fine, but remember that you should not force yourself to the extreme with these to a point where you might get hurt.

If you decide to go for the gym route, make sure that you start low with the weights, and slowly build up your strength from there. Learning to perform the exercises with correct form is absolutely crucial, and it should never be neglected. If you’re just there to stop your back pain, you don’t even have to worry about lifting much. Performing a deadlift with lighter weights will be more than enough to help strengthen your lower back and make your back pain disappear. As for the planks and sit-ups, you can do them anywhere you want, and they won’t take more than twenty minutes of your day, so if you are experiencing back pain, definitely try those.
