Ever since social media websites and platforms were invented, people were immediately “hooked” to using them. Especially those from the newer generations who were basically born with them.

There’s no doubt that they are an amazing tool that you can use in many different ways. Meeting people, sharing pictures and videos and simply chatting with strangers are just some of the things you can do on social media.

The popularity and usage of social media were huge even when they first came out, but today they are more popular than ever! Almost everything is connected to Facebook and Instagram these days, we can even see the elder population creating profiles. A huge part of marketing is being done on them, especially when it comes to music promotion and fashion or beauty products.

In this article, we’re going to talk specifically about Instagram and their feature that really made this platform popular, the story section. If you don’t know what Instagram stories are or how they work, we suggest that you keep reading this article in order to find out more about the awesomeness of this social media application.

What are Instagram Stories?

Instagram stories are almost the same thing as posting a picture like you usually do on social media, except it doesn’t stay there forever. If you want to capture a moment that you think is not so significantly important to be forever displayed on your profile, you can simply add it as your “story” and people will be able to see it for the next twenty-four hours. If you change your mind and decide that you do want that moment to be displayed on your profile for a longer period of time, you can add your story to the permanent section and keep it there for people to see for as long as you want. Also, on the bottom left of your story, you have a view count that displays how many people viewed your story. You can also click on it to see who exactly viewed it. Your followers can comment or “react” with emoticons or text messages to your Instagram stories which are a nice way to engage in a conversation with a person. Another feature is the ability to hide your stories from a certain someone that you don’t want to see or comment on them.

Scheduling Instagram Stories

Another great thing that you can do on Instagram is to schedule Instagram stories. If you’re a marketing agency or simply a person that loves posting tons of stories all the time, you can schedule them to be posted at a time period in which you want them to be. You don’t have to manually post each one as you take them.

Using Instagram Stories – When?

If you haven’t made any Instagram Stories yet, we encourage you to do so. It’s really simple and you can use it to display various moments of your day and life to your followers. It can be anything from a delicious meal you ate or an amazing place you visited during your weekend. People love seeing how you spend your time, especially if you’re someone that’s already pretty famous and has a larger amount of followers.
