Meghan Markle delivered her first child on the morning of 6th May. People came together to celebrate the birth of baby boy Sussex on the streets of London, and many people from all around the world came to the UK to join the celebrations.
Many famous names wished all the best to the new royal parents. Prime Minister Theresa May posted on Twitter, ‘’Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the arrival of their baby boy. Wishing you all the best at this happy time.’’ The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby, who married the royal couple last May said, ‘’Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their baby boy. May God bless the new family with love, health and happiness.’’ Former Prime Minister David Cameron and Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson also joined in to congratulate, and Home Secretary SajidJavid joked on Twitter, ‘’Congratulations to the Duke & Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their boy. Absolutely wonderful news! #royalbaby. (As Home Secretary, contrary to speculation, I didn’t attend the birth!)’’
As for the members of the royal family, the Duke of York posted on Instagram, ‘’Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the safe delivery of your baby boy!?’’
The rest of the royal family was mentioned in Buckingham Palace’s official statement, “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex was safely delivered of a son at 0526hrs this morning. The baby weighs 7lbs 3oz. The Duke of Sussex was present for the birth.” The message continued: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.
