Well, this is some sort of taboo subject among people. Many people support equality and they would rather choose not to give their opinion. Yet, we are not talking here about equality. In this article, we want to focus on safety. Our intention is not to offend anyone.
Some people claim that women are better drivers. Yet, is that the truth?
First of all, it is important to be aware of your driving skills. If there is some sort of fear while you drive, then you should talk with people about it. Despite that, if you feel uncomfortable to drive in a certain type of terrain, then you should avoid that. These two pieces of advice are equally important for male and female drivers as well.
There is one fact that we need to share with you. Believe it or not, women drivers are involved in 68.1% of all crashes. Still, that doesn’t mean that they are less capable of driving this vehicle. We want to highlight a couple of reasons why women are not better drivers than men. You can also check AutomotivesBlog and see their opinion as well.

Women Drivers are Under Pressure
Well, this is actually the fault of men, but we need to mention it. Let’s imagine one situation. In one family, there are twins – a girl and a boy. Their parents do not want to separate them in any way and they want to both teach them how to drive. Logically, the father will have a lot more pieces of advice for his daughter than his son.
He doesn’t do this because he thinks that his daughter is less capable of driving. Simply, he worries more if she will know how to handle the crowd and other things. That puts the daughter under more pressure and she starts to worry more than necessary. In that situation, there are larger chances that she will make some mistakes while driving.
Well, we can’t tell parents to change this. It is something that happens from the moment when this sort of vehicle is invented. Yet, we encourage women to stay concentrated, but not to be afraid. Lack of confidence during driving is not going to bring good results. As we said, if there is something that you are afraid of, always talk with more experienced drivers. You can even call them to join you and ask them which things you need to improve.
There is another reason why women feel more pressure while driving. As we said, they are equal citizens of our society. We can even go further and say that in many cases women show that they are more intelligent than men. Yet, their sensitive nature also brings different fears. It is something that we can’t control either change.
Men Drivers are More Experienced
Okay, we gave you an example when a man and woman start driving at the same moment. Yet, our case was specific. When you look closer, it often happens that men start to get interested in cars a lot quicker than women.
We will use an example once again. All people have some sort of a to-do list. We develop that list usually when we are still young. The list of men usually contains a bullet about cars. For instance, they plan to get a driver’s license in a certain period of life. After that, they start planning which car they want to drive, etc. The “to-do” list of women usually does not contain these things. That’s why they usually start driving later compared to men. The lack of driving experience is one of the reasons why women are not better drivers than men.
Despite that, we want to use another example that will confirm this statement. In most cases, kids get a different type of toy. For instance, boys usually get car toys to play while girls are happier when they get Barbie dolls and things like that. In that way, people put in the boy’s subconscious that he will become a driver one day. Things are different when we talk about girls.
Premenstrual Syndrome
We need to give our opinion about this as well. Our recommendation to female drivers is not to drive during menstrual periods. Additionally, we suggest you do not drive during pregnancy as well. The reason for that is simple. Both periods bring different symptoms that can distract you from careful driving.
Well, the most common syndrome that most of you already know is “mood swings”. When something like this happens, it is not safe at all to sit in the car. Logically, mood swings cause some sort of frustration and anger. You will start to get nervous while driving and patience is one of the key things of safe driving. For example, you won’t have the patience to wait in the line and you will start driving faster. This is one of the most common reasons why car accidents occur.
During pregnancy, things are a bit different. It is not a secret that pregnant women feel tired more than usual. Logically, each driver needs to feel rest before he sits behind the wheels. This especially counts if you are driving on a longer distance. If that’s the case, ask someone to drive instead of you. Getting a taxi is also a good choice, isn’t it?
It Is Easier to Distract a Female Driver
We hope that our female readers will not get offended because of this. Actually, we hope that they are aware of this.
It is not a secret that women are more talkative than men. This is not our opinion; it is simply a fact and we are sure that everyone understands why we are saying this. So, it can happen that, during the drive, a woman driver takes a phone and calls her beloved ones. Despite that, social media also becomes some sort of problem, even for male drivers. Our message for men and women drivers is to leave their phone near them without even touching it during the drive. You must stay fully concentrated until you get from spot A to spot B.
