The real “Magic Mike” is now in town in Orlando, Florida every Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 pm. The fully choreographed male revue show began in 1998 in New York, NY and has grown to over 19 cities nationwide. The show features two hours of non-stop dance routines with audience participation and hundreds of screaming fans. Hunk-O-Mania differentiates itself from its competitors in that it is a hybrid between a Broadway-style show and a traditional strip club setting. The production intertwines the stage presence of leading performers with the audience interaction of the backup dancers. The hybrid model of entertainment has received favorable feedback from patrons all over the country. While some members of the audience prefer only to enjoy the visual benefits of our shows, others seek excitement in interacting with the dancers.
We were lucky enough to sit down with the founder and producer, Armand Peri, as he was gearing up for another weekend with hundreds of customers celebrating birthday parties, bachelorette parties, divorce parties and girls’ night out. He was able to provide behind-the-scenes in-depth feedback on the evolution and development of male entertainment revue shows and how his company has been able to provide some of the most unique and favorable entertainment to its fans.

Can you explain what patrons can expect to experience when they visit Hunk-O-Mania?
AP: Sure, the Hunk-O-Mania male strip club Orlando allows our patrons to get away from reality and truly enjoy themselves and let loose while having a fun and enjoyable experience with their girlfriends. We have a diverse cast and no matter what your taste is, there are guys with different looks and personalities that will appeal to every girl’s taste. We have the boy-next-door, the male model, the bad boy, the intellectual, the rock star from all different races and ethnicities. We guarantee that every customer will find themselves having a great time by the end of the night.
Does the audience have the ability to interact with the cast?
AP: There is definitely the opportunity for audience interaction. The dancers go into the crowd and interact with the audience depending on how much the girls’ desire. It is definitely a lot of energy and a lot of intensity that get the fans screaming, dancing, laughing and singing along to the dance routines. We have something for everybody from the very shy girls to the wildest and crazy girls.
What type of preparation does it take to become a male performer?
AP: We look for dancers with a positive attitude and a positive mindset. Physical health and well-being and very important. All of our dancers take good physical care of themselves and have a healthy workout routine and nutrition plan. We remind our dancers to stretch before every show to prevent injuries, it can get pretty wild up on stage. Each dancer is the face of our brand so each one tries to portray themselves the best they can.
What type of workout do the dancers do?
AP: The workouts vary from dancer to dancer but the one commonality they have is that they are all consistent and very dedicated. Our dancers have busy lives outside of Hunk-O-Mania, many are professionals and specialists in their respective fields. But they all make time for their workouts and to follow their nutrition plans. A lot of them wake up very early in the morning and do their cardio before embarking on their day and then hit the weights at night. Some of the guys work out together, there is a camaraderie amongst the guys and they realize this is a team effort. Backstage before every show, the energy is very similar to a sports team looking to win a championship.
How did you come up with the idea for Hunk-O-Mania?
AP: I was a former dancer myself in New York and I realized that there was a gap in the market for a high-quality male revue show versus what the customers were looking for. I ventured out and began my first show in 1998 to provide a fully choreographed show for patrons celebrating bachelorette parties, birthday parties and divorce parties. Other shows were not choreographed and were very done haphazardly at the time. As a result, Hunk-O-Mania received favorable reviews and was able to grow to over 19 cities in a short period of time.
