We witnessed how Maisie Williams flourished throughout the years as she played Arya Stark in the HBO’s Game of Thrones. She got the role when she was only 12 years old, and we had the fortune to watch her blossom, as her character was one of the rare ones that haven’t been killed off.
But, as we wait for the finale of Game of Thrones, Maisie has given us a little spoiler about how her character ended up.
‘I ended on the perfect scene,’ she shared with the Guardian. ‘I was alone – shocker! Arya’s always bloody alone.’
She revealed that she will Arya behind her, and move on to the next chapter in her life.
‘I got to the end and I didn’t want more. I had exhausted every possible piece of Arya. And this season was quite big for me. I had a lot more to do. Mainly because there’s just fewer characters now, so everyone’s got more to do.’
Maisie isn’t alone in this. Kit Harington said that he is also ready to leave Jon Snow behind.
‘I have no desire to go back and do any more of that show… I have such a fond place in my heart for that show,’ said the actor to the crowd at Esquire Townhouse last weekend.
‘For a good months afterwards I just burst into tears randomly. I can’t think of a better job to have in your 20s than to play Jon Snow.’
Kit also shared that he still hasn’t told his wife, Rose Leslie, who portrayed Jon’s lover Ygritte in Game of Thrones, what happened at the finale of the series.
