Drake Vs. Meek Mill, the lamest yet most entertaining rap beef in recent history, continues! And in the lamest yet most entertaining way possible, with the aid of MEMES. Late yesterday, Drake performed at Toronto’s OVO Fest and, pumped to be in front of a hometown crowd (OVO stands for October’s Very Own, which is what Drake calls himself, having been born in October), he made the most of the edge he gained on Meek after the latter dropped his weak diss track late last week.
First, Drake did soundcheck in his “Free Meek Mill” T-shirt, worn sarcastically this time around (the first time he wore it in genuine support of the Philadelphia rapper when he incarcerated after violating a probation order last year). Then he took the stage and basically performed an entire diss set about Meek, using a series of memes to mock the rapper, who’s engaged to Drake’s (one-time?) friend Nicki Minaj. (Or are they? MediaTakeout is reporting that the couple has split and will be making an announcement soon.)

Drake opened with his TWO Meek-inspired tracks, “Back to Back” and “Charged Up,” as Meek-mocking memes flashed on the screen behind him, including one offering a “Participation Award” to Meek’s poorly received effort, “Wanna Know.” Props to the person charged with putting together this Powerpoint. Well done, though the Whataburger tweet inclusion was kinda questionable. I prefer my rap beefs to be brand-free.
Drake also hyped up his expected third diss track, “3peat,” by performing a bit of it during the show:
So, yeah. I think it’s safe to say Drake, while continuing to have noooo chillllll, has this one in the bag, barring some tremendous comeback by Meek, but I’m not holding my breath.
