Kate Middleton is famous and loved by everyone for her great personality and of course her astonishing style. Women of the royal family are always well dressed, and they have an entire team of people that are helping them to always look amazing at any event that they attend. But Kate is also responsible for her outfits and she always gives her final touch.
And of course, another member of the royal family that had beautiful style was Princess Diana, Kates late mother-in-law. And people noticed that some of Kate’s outfits are pretty similar to the ones that Lady D wore back in the days. We can say that this way Kate is paying a tribute to her mother-in-law that she never met.

1. Amazing polka dots
Polka dots are very difficult to pull off, but both Kate and Diana managed to do it. Diana wore her polka dots outfit while she was visiting Japan, and Kate wore them when she was on a tour of Warner Bros Studio in London. The problem with polka dots is that you may look very childish, but the ladies look very classy in their dresses. We can’t decide which outfit was better, because both of them were looking astonishing.
2. Pretty pink
If you think of a color that’s best for a princess, then there is nothing better than soft and pastel pink. It is the best color if you want to look and feel more feminine. Both Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge look amazing in these soft pink combinations.
3. Royals look great in royal blue
When Kate Middleton had her first official appearance and gave her first public speech at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices in 2012, she wore a royal blue dress. And the color of the dress is almost the same as the one Princess Diana wore. We don’t know if it was on purpose, but we do know that she looked marvelous.
4. Another shade of blue
The Duchess of Cambridge sure loves the blues, she wears it often and she looks perfect in any shade of blue. These outfits that we are showing you are almost identical. Lady D wore her powder blue coat when she was at the Help the Aged Golden Awards, and she was beautiful. Kate had a difficult job but managed to pull it off. She also wore a powder blue coat, and she looked as beautiful as Princess Diana looked.
5. Classic white look
You can’t go wrong with a simple white look, or can you? Princess Diana and Kate Middleton definitely didn’t go wrong. Both wore an elegant white suit, with a white blazer and a simple skirt. Both proved us that you don’t need to wear dresses always if you want to look elegant.
6. Elegant teal
Wow, both these dresses are so amazing. But we must admit that we slightly prefer the one that Kate Middleton wore. It’s elegant and modern, and the color is so eyes pleasing. Don’t get us wrong Princess Diana also looked perfect in her dress, but the one Kate wore is our cup of tea. Kate Middleton wore her dress at the Olympic concert and Diana wore hers at the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute dinner dance. Each lady is the ultimate winner of her time.
7. Shades of purple
Both dresses are so elegant and perfect in this color. Diana wore a long, sleeveless dress in Sydney, Australia, and Kate wore a short dress but with long sleeves in Germany. This is such a nice color and it suits them both.
8. Classic plaid outfit
Plaid is not only for the lovers of punk music and lifestyle. Plaid can be sophisticated and elegant if you know how to pair it and wear it. Lady D and Kate both greeted their supporters in plaid coats, that yes are very different, but also very elegant and beautiful.
9. Ladies in green
You must be very brave to pull off the entire outfit in green. But Princess Diana and the Duchess of Cambridge managed to do that also. They both look amazing in their green outfits, Kate with her green coat and Diana with her green suit.
10. Royal red
And for the final looks, we have these breathtaking red dresses. Both dresses are marvelous and the cute little red clutch purses are an amazing final touch. Lady D looked great in her long red dress, and Kate looked gorgeous showing her beautiful neckline in her classic, but a stylish red dress.
