It has been a custom in the royal family for the young royal couples to have the same offices and representatives in the press. However, this has not changes since Prince Harry and Princess Meghan has decided to be independent from Prince William and Princess Kate and to have their own office and to even move from the Kensington Palace. They have decided to have their representatives near the Queen, i.e. in the Buckingham Palace. So, the splitting of the royal house is happening.

Differences
It is true that William and Harry have always been close and that have been best friends. However, regardless of this, they are quite different individuals and they have different interests. Taking into account that Prince Harry has also married, the time for splitting is ideal.

This does not mean that they are in a feud and that they will not be on good terms.
