Last month a rumor that Prince William has cheated on Kate Middleton with her longtime friend Rose Hanbury, the Marchioness of Cholmondeley had hit the royal family, and the world hard. There aren’t any pieces of evidence, but that isn’t stopping the media or the people online to gossip. As if it wasn’t enough for the Cambridge family to have to go through this scandal, people online have started to drag Princess Diana’s name into her son’s affair.
Despite the fact that Princess Diana died in 1997, and that Prince William’s cheating has nothing to do with her, people are still talking about her. They are mentioning Diana’s ‘’revenge dress’’ which she wore after Prince Charles admitted his affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, and their comments are downright disgusting that we don’t even want to repeat them to you.
Princess Diana would probably defend her son, like any other mother, if she was still alive. Mentioned Diana in this context is bad in so many ways – first, Diana is not here to defend herself, nor to comment about her son’s marriage. Second, Harry and William went through some crazy times after their mother died, and people talking in such a manner makes things even worse for them after everything they went through. Prince Harry shared with The Telegraph in 2017, “I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well. I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything is coming to you from every angle.”
Taking Prince William’s mother into his alleged affair is a whole another level. Prince William has maybe or maybe not cheated on his wife, but that is not the reason to put his late mother in the middle of it. People should be concerned about their lives, and let Prince William live his life the best that he knows.
