Social media platforms and services have become significantly important in the last few years. I’m pretty sure that everyone’s favorite way of connecting with others is through a social media website.
We use these services daily to upload photos, chat with others and many other things. With that being said, one of the most stressful things that can happen in our daily lives is losing the password to one of our social media accounts.
Today we’re going to focus on Facebook.
What to do when you lose your Facebook password
Social websites nowadays feature a number of security measures that you can set up in case the security of your account gets compromised. Many of those include two-factor authentications, SMS verifiers, second emails used for recovery and things of that nature.
But, if you don’t have any of these setups, you can still try some different options to recover your Facebook password in case it gets lost.
Before we start with the steps on “What to do if you lose your Facebook password”, we have to mention that there are many websites out there that might be scam sites and you should never visit them or provide them with your Facebook account security information, password etc.
However, there are plenty of different options “how to hack Facebook” in case you cannot remember your password and you don’t want to create a new one.
1. Forgot my password
First and most obvious is the “Forgot my password” option. After clicking this, you might be asked for some security details that you provided during the creation of your account. This process is necessary to prove Facebook that the account belongs to you, and not someone else. If you can’t remember some of these things like security questions or answers, you can try our second step for getting back your lost Facebook password.
2. Recover password via an E-Mail.
When you’re creating a Facebook account, you are asked to provide an e-mail address that will be used for logging in or contacting you in-case something happens to your account. You can use this exact same e-mail address to get a password recovery code that you can use to reset or change your password.
3. Recover your password via phone number
If you don’t know your e-mail address or you simply no longer have access to it, there is still hope of recovering your account. You can use the phone number that you linked to your Facebook account and their support service will send you a code which you can use to reset your password and create a new one instead.
If you’re getting an error while trying this method, it might be because you are putting a wrong phone number or simply making a mistake when writing it. Make sure to double check and use your country code.
If none of these methods work and you simply got your account hacked or stolen, you can contact facebook via your friend’s account and politely ask them to shut it down because you no longer have access to it and you’re afraid that someone will post fake photos or posts on it without your permission.
With this being said, keeping your password safe is the most important part when we have social media platforms in mind. We suggest that you always use as many security methods as possible to keep your account safe and uncompromised, avoid scam sites and never tell your password to anyone, not even people claiming to be support staff.
