2018 was quite a year for the British royal family. Prince Harry got married, which was long anticipated. He got married to former actress and Duchess Meghan Markle and this was all over the press worldwide. Furthermore, Queen Elizabeth II welcomed another great-grandchild Prince Louis whereas we shouldn’t forget about Princess Eugenie who married her long-time lover Jack Brooksbank.
It didn’t take long for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to announce to the public that they are waiting their first child together, which is due in spring this year. Not everything has been so positive for the royal family and health issues were reported as well. To this problem, Prince Philip is connected and the cause of it is the alleged rift between Prince William and Prince Harry.
Generally speaking, the Windsors had a great 2018, but can 2019 but as successful for the family? Could it be that 2019 will top it? Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will welcome their first child which has been known for a while now, but is there a possibility for another royal wedding in 2019?
Yes, there is!
Lady Gabriella Windsor will tie the knot in 2019. Gabriella is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent and she will get married in spring this year. How exciting is that? Her chosen one is Thomas Kingston, who used to date Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa Middleton.
According to the Kensington Palace, the couple agreed to do so last year, before Princess Eugenie got married in November. The Palace also says that Kingston “works in frontier market investment and is a Director of Devonport Capital”.
As expected, Lady Gabriella get married at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the same as Princess Eugenie and Duchess Meghan Markle. However, there will be some differences regarding the ceremony. Considering that Lady Gabriella isn’t a full-time royal, her wedding will be a private matter and it will not be broadcast. After the ceremony, the reception will take place at Frogmore House.
Black Sheep of the Family
Even though cameras will not be at the wedding and it will not be a public affair, it will still be interesting to see whether major royals will attend it. Princess Michael of Kent is known as the most embarrassing royal of all times! She is renowned for her elitist mentality and racist outbursts. There is a story that when she first met Markle, she showed up in a very offensive blackamoor brooch.
The royal family refer to her as Pushy Princess and generally speaking, major royals would not attend such events. One of the reasons is that they find Lady Gabriella’s mother to be quite unbearable. Queen Elizabeth II is usually the composed one with her head on her shoulder and she called Princess Michael Kent “a bit grand to us.”
But that is not all.
Princess Margaret’s son David, Viscount Linley said that if he could wish anything to happen to his worst enemy, it would be “having a dinner with Princess Michael of Kent”. That says a lot about the princess and it will be interesting to learn whether major royals have decided to attend the wedding.
Even though it seems as if Princess Michael of Kent can be quite a trouble, it is highly unlikely that she will ruin the luckiest day of Lady Gabriella’s life. As we have already said, 2018 was spectacular, but with a child expected to come in 2019 and another wedding being planned, plenty of things will happen! Not to forget that it can always become more complicated than it actually is.
