While many believe that being a member of the royal family is all about wealth, extravagance, and so many perks, that’s not always the case. So, for instance, Prince George, who is just a five-year-old, is not allowed to become best friends with any of his peers. Doesn’t sound so great now, right?
Namely, other than that, Prince George’s life is pretty much the same as of any other boy his age regarding his interests in cars and firetrucks, video games, and the like. However, when it comes to friends, different rules apply. We assume your first thought was that this just another of those strict rules of the royal family. But you were wrong. It is, actually, the school he attends that doesn’t allow the kinds there to get too close, to have a best friend. Those at Thomas’s Battersea School want to protect children from being left out and promote kindness, instead, and they have their own special way to do so. “There’s a policy that if your child is having a party, unless every child in the class is invited, you don’t give out invites in class,” explains Jane Moore.
It might seem strange a policy, but, apparently, it works for young Prince George. He does get along with other kids, but he doesn’t mind spending time alone. He’s even not that fond of playing with his sister, Princess Charlotte. As Kate Middleton once revealed, “She is the one in charge.” According to another source, Prince George is “very independent now and not as interested in playing with Charlotte all the time. They are close, but George likes to go off and do his own thing.”
Of course, just because he finds it alright to spend time alone, it doesn’t mean he’s not social. “George takes a little while to warm up, but once he’s comfortable with you, he’s very chatty and charming,” the source added. As for his best friend outside of the school, that piece of information is yet to be revealed.
