Exactly one year ago today, there was a website that made proclamations that Britney Spears was 3 months into a pregnancy and was keeping the news about it away from the public. Right after that Gossip Cop wrote an article where they refuted all that and said it was 100 percent incorrect. Now a year later it is very clear that we were correct and that the website that was so sure in themselves about Britney being pregnant was extremely wrong.
On April 28, 2018, a blog named Naughty Gossip released an article titled, “Britney Spears Is Pregnant.” The often proven wrong website, which gets its information from another outlet called Blind Gossip, said that Britney Spears would not be able to keep her secret away from prying eyes of the public for much longer. They also wrote in the article how Britney Spears would find it very hard to perform all her dance routines and perform in general when she gets a “baby belly”.
They also wrote about the “fact” that the popular singer has a “steady partner”, so that it was unnecessary to speculate who the father really was. But what we found very strange was that it failed to mention that her boyfriend’s name is Sam Asghari. They went on to disregard some basic rules of journalism, such as going through claims of other outlets before publishing them as their own. Naughty Gossip just copied Blind Gossip’s very questionable article, which of course had no proof at all, and presented it as if it were a fact.
So, as Gossip Cop stated after speaking to a mutual friend of ours and the famous singer, Britney Spears was definitely not pregnant nor hiding a baby bump. After a full year has passed and obviously Britney has not given birth to her third child. It’s important to point out that neither of those blogs which were breathlessly maintaining that she was going to have her third child apologized for what they wrote and of course even today, they haven’t bothered to refute what they wrote or update the stories they wrote to reflect the truth, that Britney was not really pregnant.
Even before that, two months before that story actually, Gossip Cup busted another outlet, Us Weekly, wrote a similar article which presented another incorrect piece of information, that Britney Spears was having a baby with Asghari. Last August there was another story we busted and it was from Heat. They mistakenly wrote a story about Britney Spears how she was going to get pregnant and have a baby after her “Piece of Me” tour ends. Both of those cases are great examples of outlets misusing information and using bad sources. Unlike those outlets, Gossip Cop’s reporting was very good since we have insiders who are very trustworthy.
In the end that brings us to Gossip Cop likes to look back sometimes at articles from the year before, like the one about Britney Spears trying to keep her pregnancy “under wraps”. We go back to these stores because way too many media outlets that publish these kind of fake news just move on from them and don’t take any responsibility for spreading misinformation, which in a lot of cases spread like wildfire. Of course, we’re not perfect, we make mistakes too but we always take responsibility for them. What we can learn from this is that the next time an outlet proclaims Britney is pregnant you should check out these articles and then always come here to get the real scoop.
