Yesterday morning, the Sanford Police Department in Florida received a call that was ridiculous even by that state’s usual ridiculous standards. The resident called 911 about a monkey sitting on their mailbox and eating their mail. While calling Animal Control may have been the more logical move for most of us, they likely assumed the monkey knew that his snack was a federal offense.
At least the complaint gave the cops something fun to do with their Facebook page. The monkey, who was later identified as Zeek, was not videotaped eating the mail. They were able to capture him being pretty punk rock while they waited for his owner to come get him.
If this is what being a cop is, then sign me up! Monkeys and Facebook are my jam.
