The anger is a result of Prince Edward’s claims he has made regarding Sarah Ferguson, his sister-in-law.

Prince Edward: A Biography is a book written by Ingrid Seward. The author claims that Prince Edward has blamed Fergie for making a fool of his brother, Prince Andrew. In fact, Edward was convinced that Fergie was the one who leaked information about his relationship with Sophie Ryhs-Jones, who is now his wife.
Prince Edward became his romance with Sophie Ryhs-Jones in 1993. Even though this relationship has been one of the least complicated royal romance of modern times, it still attracted lots of attention. The relationship was under intense public scrutiny and the media kept making various speculations, including about her true hair color and her singing voice.

The Queen, who is very fond of her daughter-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, reprimanded Edward. Moreover, she explained to him that his accusations of Sarah’s disloyalty have been really unfair. According to the book, Prince Edward immediately apologized.
