She supported Trump’s presidential campaign
Even though they had a hard public divorce, Ivana supported Trump’s run for president. She even shared his point of view on immigrants, even though she was Czech. “I think the Mexican people — and people who are immigrants — are fine because [they] are good workers and good people. But they have to come here legally and they have to speak at least a little English and pay the taxes,” she shared with Post. “I disagree when an 18-year-old girl climbs over the border and she’s pregnant and gives birth, and the kid becomes automatically American. … Who is paying for food and hospitality? Us, Americans. As long as they are here legally, it’s fine.”
She claims their divorce postponed his plans for a presidential campaign
“Probably five years before our divorce, Reagan or somebody brought him a letter and said, ‘You should run for president,'” she shared with the New York Post. “So he was thinking about it. But then … there was the divorce, there was the scandal, and American women loved me and hated him. But he was always tooling around with the idea.”
Marla Maples and Ivana at the inauguration
According to Page Six, Ivana allegedly left the inauguration celebrations earlier in order to avoid Marla Maples. Marla was the woman with whom Donald cheated on Ivana during their marriage in the 90’s. “[Ivana] had planned to go out and celebrate after the swearing-in, but when she found out that Marla was going, she canceled,” an insider shared with the publication.
A desire to be an ambassador
Now that she and her ex-husband Donald are good friends, she has some plans that Donald can help her with. “I will suggest that I be ambassador for the Czech Republic,” she said the New York Post. “[That] is where I’m from and my language and everybody knows me. I’m quite known all around the world. Not only in America. I have written three books, and they were translated in 40 countries in 25 languages. I’m known by the name Ivana. I really did not need the name Trump.”
Dating
“I have about three boyfriends!” she shared with Fashion Week Daily in February 2016. Later that year, the Daily Mail caught Ivana in St. Tropez with her “ex-husband and on-again, off-again lover Rossano Rubicondi.”
She will never marry again
After her divorce from Trump in 1991, Ivana got divorced twice more. She was married four times. Her thoughts on getting married again? “If you are a married woman, you usually follow what the man wants to do. I can do whatever what I want,” she revealed to New York Post. “I’m not getting married again. But I like companions. The most important for me is honesty, good humor — not necessarily a millionaire. I don’t need [money]. I prefer to be a babysitter than a nursemaid. I don’t want to worry about bad knees and bad back.”
‘Glam-ma’
Her eight grandchildren aren’t accustomed to calling her simply grandma or ‘’granny.’’ Ivana shared with the New York Post that they call her “Ivana-ma or Glam-ma.”
Reality TV star
Like Donald, Ivana also had her share in reality TV programme. In 2006, she participated in a dating special called Ivana Young Man, in which she aided a millionaire woman find a younger man who was after love, and not money. A few years later, Ivana joined for Season 7 of the UK hit Celebrity Big Brother.
Her home is the world
“I spend winters in Miami, spring, and fall in New York, and in summer, I have a 300-year-old fisherman’s house in St. Tropez,” she shared with Fashion Week Daily.
Still good for a bikini
Even though she is almost 70 years old, she doesn’t shy away from tight dresses and bikinis. She declared that she has at least 100 bikinis in her wardrobe, which she “live[s] in all summer long.” She says that she likes more to wear “fitted dresses that show off your figure.” Ivana likes to show off her figure, like her “good-looking legs” in short skirts. “I think I’m elegant, sophisticated, and sometimes, a bit over the top — but you know, that’s Ivana,” she says. She donates many of her clothes to organizations like the Red Cross and gives others to consignment shops that profit numerous institutions.
Health geek
“I want to look my best at every age, and I think I look very good for my age. I take care of myself,” Ivana told Fashion Week Daily. Her workout regimen combines going to the gym and taking long walks. She also obeys a healthy diet, full of fresh vegetables and fruit.
Her relationship with Ivanka
“They made a real effort to ensure that we knew that they would always be there for us and accessible to us and it helped us through a difficult time,” said Ivanka about their parent’s divorce and how it affected her. Ivanka posted a photo on her Instagram page with her mother, Ivana for Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day to my incredible mom, Ivana,” Ivanka captioned the photo.
Staying out of the public eye
Ever since Donald became president, she is trying to stay clear from the press. After the inauguration, she didn’t attend much of the fashion show she usually attended. Many think that that is because she doesn’t want to talk about her husband to the media, and how are their children keeping up with everything that is going on.
She wrote a book about her kids
“I like having the different projects, keeping moving from one to the other,” Ivana said in 2005. Ivana wrote a book called Raising Trump in 2017 about her adventures raising her three children with Donald Trump. Ivana issued a couple of novels in the 1990s and a self-help book called The Best is Yet to Come. Her kids were enthusiastic about her newest book and they even provided some of their own memories. “We are immensely proud of our mother and excited,” they said. “She is an amazing mom, teacher, and inspiration to all of us. We are incredibly grateful to have grown up in such a loving and close family.”
Promoting a diet regimen
In June 2018, Ivana went to Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel to promote Italian businessman Gianluca Mech’s Italiano Diet, a diet regimen which sells pre-packaged low-calorie and low-carb meals.
