The world still doesn’t know if Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are expecting a boy or a girl, but neither do Meghan and Harry. Prince William and Kate Middleton had to wait for their baby to be born in order to see if it is a boy or a girl. Why is that?
Kate and William
Kate Middleton and Prince William, and the rest of the world had to wait for their babies to be born to see if they are having a boy or a girl. Even if they did know the gender of their baby, they would never share it with the public.
Meghan and Harry
When Kate and Prince William announced they are expecting the baby, the public speculated to the last day what gender is the baby. The same thing is happening to Meghan and Prince Harry. The only person who knows what the royal couples are having is the doctor who did the ultrasound.
Royal tradition
Not knowing the gender of a royal baby is a family tradition. Since the beginning of the royal era, parents had to wait for the birth of their child to find out what is the baby’s gender. Now, when the baby is born, Queen Elizabeth II has to be the first to know its gender, and then later gender is revealed to everybody else. The Palace is the one to inform the public through an announcement about the gender of the baby.
Meghan, Prince Harry, and royal traditions
Meghan and Prince Harry are known for breaking the royal rules, but it seems like this one won’t be the one to be broken. Although it more of a tradition than the rule, they can still go and check with the doctor what are they having if they really want to know. But, for now, it seems like they want to be surprised, and Meghan even shared that she is excited about the surprise. Prince Harry has shared that has a desire for it to be a girl. Meghan’s due date is somewhere in April or May.
