Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married in May 2018 at Windsor Castle. They met on a blind date when Meghan was visiting London in 2016 and got engaged in 2017.
Despite the fact that Meghan admitted that she didn’t know much about Prince Harry before they met, People Magazine Deputy Editor Dan Wakeford stated there is always “an element of fantasy when Americans see the Royals”. In 2017 documentary “Prince Harry – An Engaging Life”, Mr. Wakeford noted: “We don’t have our own Royal Family in America, so we project our fantasies onto these handsome princes and princesses.”
But it seems like this all might be true. Meghan wrote about her desire to be a princess nearly ten years ago, and she even mentioned Kate Middleton when she wrote about her Royal fantasy. She said: “Little girls dream of being a princess. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power.” She-Ra is a heroine from the 1980s American cartoon.
She confessed she “had a bit of a ‘pinch-myself-I’m-emailing-with-a-princess’ moment” before her interview with the exiled Libyan royal and humanitarian Princess Alia Al-Senussi in 2014. Meghan’s mention of Kate Middleton in her Royal fantasy was, “Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the Royal wedding and endless conversations about Princess Kate.”
