Many people think that Prince William and Kate Middleton have a fairy-tale life, wonderful marriage full of joy, traveling, events, people around the world absolutely love them, and they have three beautiful children, but not everything as great as it is now.
Before they became the Duke and the Duchess of Cambridge, they were just ordinary two young students who were going out, partying and having other lovers.
From an excerpt from a royal biography, The Making of a Royal Romance, Katie Nicholl, Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent, revealed us some interesting stories. One of those was one about how run-in with Carly Massy-Birch, William’s ex, at a dinner party, had made a great fuss.
Back in 2002, when William and Kate just started dating, they went with friends on a diner party and among guests there was Carly. They played a game called Never Have I Ever, in which you go round in the circle making statements about things you have never done and if anyone has done that thing, they must take a shot.
When it was Carly’s turn she said: “I’ve never dated two people in this room,” knowing that she was William’s ex and that he is dating Kate now. At that time, they somehow hid their relationship and only close friends knew that.
Everyone was in shock and William was quite angry at Carly as she revealed it before they announced it. He just whispered “I can’t believe you just said that.”
One guest who talked to Nicole said: “We knew they were together but it was the first time William confirmed his and Kate‘s relationship in public.”
This created a tension between the three and Kate “spoke very little” to Carly.
But at the end it all went well as Prince William and Kate Middleton got married in 2011, and now have a beautiful life.
