It doesn’t matter whether you’re a regular citizen or a royal family member, being a parent is a difficult thing to deal with. Every single person with children knows that the struggles are real. The best thing new parents can do is to look up to other moms and dads and learn a few things about raising a child. Luckily Meghan Markle, who will soon welcome her first child, has a great example to look up to, her sister in law, Duchess Kate Middleton.
Kate Middleton is a dedicated mom
Members of the royal family have always been criticized for hiring others to deal with all of their responsibilities related to children. However, William and Kate have a different approach. Even though they do have help with their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louise, they try to spend as much time as possible with their kids. William also learned many things about parenthood from his late mother Lady Diana, who was one of the most famous mothers in her time. The Duke and Duchess are affectionate with their children and are often photographed hugging and kissing them. Kate also usually talks eye to eye with the kids, which makes them feel more understood. The couple shares responsibilities equally, so the children have guidance from both parents.
The struggles of parenthood
Kate explained that being royal doesn’t make this task any easier. Additionally, she spoke up about her struggles quite a lot and other parents related to her experience. Kate recently talked to the Family Action charity, and she said that raising children in the spotlight can be a big challenge. The Duchess also admitted that couples with newborns usually do get help, but as the child gets older, the attention fades away. However, parents need help throughout the whole journey.
Things Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton Have In Common
Even though these two Duchesses have different personalities and interests, they both are dedicated to family. Kate came from a very close family, and Meghan is very tied to her mother, Doria Ragland. There were rumors about Kate and Meghan not getting along, but they turned out to be false. These women will probably bond even more during the next couple of months. Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had some experience with kids due to their uncle and aunt duties. Luckily for them, they can always ask their relatives for advice. As Kate says, it is normal to need help because everyone has troubles dealing with this important task.
