Kate Middleton is, amongst other things, most known for her astonishing jewelry collection. From her engagement ring to the tiara Queen Elizabeth II lent her, there is a piece of jewelry that you probably didn’t notice before. Kate is wearing three rings on the finger that has the iconic engagement ring on it. She has a white gold diamond-studded piece and traditional Welsh gold wedding band in addition to her blue sapphire engagement ring.
Prince William gave Kate that ring when she gave birth to their first child, Prince George. The ring was made by London designer Annoushka, set with 0.23 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, and the reason why you missed it is probably that it is hiding behind the engagement ring that once belonged to Princess Diana. The wedding ring that is also located on the same finger is made from a special nugget of gold from the Clogau St David’s mine at Bontddu in North Wales.
The eternity ring isn’t the only thing Kate has received from William as a way of celebrating important dates in their life. When they celebrated their first Christmas as a couple, William presented her with a pair of earrings from Kate’s favorite designer Kiki McDonough, which matched her blue engagement ring. Kate had them made into a drop shape and wore them on her tour of Canada, and on many other events throughout the years.
